The Skills for Healing Weekend Retreat
The three components to the The Skills for Healing Weekend Retreats make up an integrated approach to the cancer diagnosis
1 - The didactic sessions – teaches people how to empower the body: How to get complete cancer care/ how to negotiate the medical system, healthy lifestyle choices / the mind-body connection, stress and the relaxation response, how to work with difficult thoughts and emotions etc)
2 - Healing Skills – We teach mindfulness-based stress reduction, reframing/cognitive therapy, meditation, yoga, and Qi Gong
3 - Supportive-Expressive group therapy is by far the most powerful aspect of the weekend.
